Energy at Home Advice

The Council’s Energy at Home Advice team are holding a drop-in surgery in Midsomer Norton Library, Tuesday 25th March, 10.30am - 3.30pm.

Sometimes speaking to someone in person makes all the difference. On Tuesday, you'll be able to get advice on making your home more comfortable and energy efficient including switching energy suppliers, tackling mould and damp, using storage heaters, smart meters, boiler controls and insulation. The team can also advise on ways to pay for energy saving home improvements, book assessments for your home and find accredited installers.

  • how to save money on your energy bills
  • whether you are eligible for energy bill rebates or extra support
  • how to use your heating system most effectively
  • how to tackle damp, mould and condensation problems
  • which energy saving improvements may be most suitable for your home e.g. heating, insulation and renewable energy technologies
  • whether there are any grants or loans available to help cover the cost of installing energy saving improvements
